History and Timeline

The band formed in 2006. They have been active for 20 years as of 2026, consistently playing local and regional gigs in New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and New Jersey venues.

  • They emphasize fun over fame: members have prior experience with record contracts and touring, but Iron Cobra exists purely “for the fun of it” with a motto of “No egos allowed.”
  • Early on, they built a reputation for high-energy shows featuring their signature massive portable lighting production.
  • They released 2 cover album/projects, the first featuring 14 local musicians with all proceeds donated to charity and a second called “Taking Cover” (available on ReverbNation), which includes tracks like “Detroit Rock City” (KISS), “Godzilla” (Blue Öyster Cult), “Wild Side” (Mötley Crüe), and “Ice Cream Man” (Van Halen). Paul LaScola has also written and recorded original material under the band/project.
  • Over the years, they’ve played hundreds of gigs, including bars, festivals, fairs, carnivals, breweries, clubs, theaters and more.
  • They occasionally collaborate or guest with other musicians (e.g., performing with Chris Caffery of Savatage/T.S.O. since 2023 and Ron Lipnicki of Overkill in 2020).
  • The band remains very active into 2026, frequently announcing shows, “debut” appearances at new venues, and hitting milestones like 35+ shows in a season. They maintain a strong local following through Facebook (IronCobra845), Instagram (@ironcobrarocks), and their site (IronCobraRocks.com).
